Final grades will be calculated by the quality and quantity of work accomplished by the student. Students earn points for each subject category they complete, and these points are combined with the score of the Final Course Exam to calculate the final grade. Up to 2 Special Projects may by completed to help raise a student’s grade. Each special project is worth 10 points.

B 90 points
C 80 points
D 70 points
F 60 points

Subject Category Points
The student must complete all six subject categories. Each Subject Category Final Quiz is worth 10 points. Students receive all 10 points by scoring 60% or higher on each quiz, for a possible total of 60 points. (Scores of less than 60% receive no points). These points are added to the points earned from the Final Exam listed below:

Final Course Examination Points
Final Course Examination with score of 76% or higher 40 points
Final Course Examination with score of 65% to 75% 30 points
Final Course Examination with score of 50% to 64% 20 points
Final Course Examination with score of 26% to 49% 10 points
Final Course Examination with score of 25% or lower

0 points

A student who does not achieve at least 25% on their final examination or a final letter grade of C or better will not receive the one semester of high school credit.
Examples of earning points toward the course letter grade:
Example 1: Study and satisfactory completion of 6 Topics 60 points
Final Exam score of 76% or higher 40 points
Total course points = 100 points
Course letter grade = A



Example 2: Study and satisfactory completion of 6 Topics 60 points
Final Exam score of 50% to 64% 20 points
Special Project 10 points
Total course points = 90 points
Course letter grade = B



Example 3: Study and satisfactory completion of 6 Topics 60 points
Final Exam score of 50% to 64% 20 points
Total course points = 80 points
Course letter grade = C
